Process Technician
Job Summary:
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform samples on new/transfer molds along with trouble shooting of existing
jobs to develop optimum molding process, with a focus on continuous
improvement.
Job Duties:
1. Correct and/or optimize process related issues as directed by Molding
Supervisor.
2. Daily samples of new/transfer molds and establishment of molding processes
3. Assist with mold setups and changes.
4. Assist with daily preventative maintenance on all molds currently in production
such as cleaning and greasing.
5. Assist on set up and creating programs for new robotics.
6. Assist in the overall cleanliness and orderliness of the manufacturing area.
7. Perform other duties deemed necessary by Molding Supervisor or Management
to achieve production requirements.
Interaction:
1. Perform process trouble shooting and samples as directed by Molding
Supervisor.
2. Keep Molding Supervisor informed of problematic molding conditions or
equipment.
3. Attend APQP Meetings as the manufacturing representative
Qualifications:
1. High School education or equivalent.
2. Minimum 5 years experience in mold set up and trouble shooting
3. Minimum 5 years experience in process design
4. Must have working knowledge of various thermoplastics.
5. Need to be familiar with the APQP Process
6. RJG Certification is a benefit and additional compensation would be offered
Accountabilities:
1. To ensure the trouble shooting and sampling processes are successfully
accomplished to allow production to run with no quality issues and minimal
down time.
Job Specifications:
1. Technically competent with the use of micro and non-micro molding equipment.
2. Must be able to exert 200 ft. lbs. torque in a push or pulling motion.
3. Must be proficient in the use of all mold handling equipment.
4. Must supply own hand tools sufficient for mold set-up (tool
list supplies).
