QA Layout Technician

Job Duties:
1. Perform layout on new and revised products.
2. Perform statistical studies and prepare reports.
3. Assist and/or fill in for the shift inspector as needed.
4. Other duties as may be assigned by the Q.A. Manager.

Interaction:
1. Must be able to interact with all levels of employees internal to the company.

Qualifications:
1. High School education or equivalent.
2. Minimum two (2) years experience in an injection molding environment.
3. Minimum two (2) years experience in Q.A. environment.
4. Minimum one (1) year experience performing layout inspections and working with the associated equipment. Specifically caliper, micrometer, vision machine and CMM.
5. Strong math background.
6. Be capable of setting up basic programs on the Vision Machine and/or CMM or able to understand the concept at a minimum to learn.
7. Be willing to continuously receive training and education and take on new responsibilities.

Accountabilities:
1. Perform layouts in an accurate and timely manner.
2. Perform the duties of the shift inspector when needed.

Job Specifications:
1. Must have an in-depth knowledge of various types of inspection equipment such as:
micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gages, comparators, gage pins, gage blocks.
2. Must have a general understanding of personal computers and calculators.
3. Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, including geometric tolerancing.
4. Must be able to read, speak, and write English.
5. Must possess a strong match background.
6. Must be able to judge colors.
7. Must have an understanding of S.P.C. and process capability studies
